How piles work
A pile is notes stacked on notes. It is not a directory. The files stay put. Only the layout remembers who sits on whom.
Why stack at all
The canvas shows one folder at a time. Cards in that room drift. When two notes belong together for a stretch, you pile them instead of inventing a folder you will have to undo later.
A pile has no name. The top card is the one you see. The rest wait underneath until you spread them again.
What the disk keeps
•
Markdown files do not move
•
A folder is still a real directory
•
Layout stores membership, order, and the last camera
Drop a note on a folder and the file moves. Drop a note on a pile and only the layout changes.
Opening a card
Click the top card and it becomes a white page. The room behind it blurs. Close the page and the pile is still a pile.
